1. Connect your iPhone to your computer.  Open iTunes if it is not automatically opened.

2. Under ‘Devices’ in the left side menu, select your device (e.g. Joe Miner’s iPhone).  This should bring up a screen showing a description of your device under the ‘Summary’ tab.

3. In the gray highlighted ‘Version’ section, click ‘Check for update.’

4. Click ‘Download and Install’ when prompted.

5. On the ‘Important Information’ window, click ‘Next.’

6. On the ‘Safety Info’ and ‘Software License Agreement’ window, click ‘Agree.’

7. The software download may take a few minutes, during which time you will see a download progress bar.

8. Once the update has been downloaded, iTunes will restart your iPhone.  Leave it connected until iTunes indicates that it is ok to disconnect your iPhone.

9. Enjoy using your newly-secured device!
